In 2010 she began formal midwifery training at Birthwise Midwifery School in Bridgton, Maine. She graduated and was certified by the North American Registry of Midwives in 2013. Prior to attending Birthwise Alex worked as a fertility counselor, and counseled families on their preconception and conception journeys. She loves supporting people in all phases of their family-building process, from preconception and fertility counseling to insemination, prenatal, birth and postpartum support to wellness care, she believes in supporting families through each cycle in their journey. She brings a holistic approach to her midwifery practice, meeting each family’s individual needs and offering clinically competent, respectful and responsive care. Alex lives in southern Vermont and provides midwifery care in Vermont, western New Hampshire and northern Massachusetts.

Testimonials

"Alex was the perfect midwife for our family. She had the experience to quietly and competently care for my clinical needs while also having the sensitivity and patience to understand me, communicate with me and calm me (and my husband). All throughout my pregnancy, she ensured I was educated and empowered to make the best choices, and I truly felt I could do so free from judgment. I could tell that Alex genuinely loves her work and her clients and is a uniquely gifted caregiver. If you are lucky enough to be in her care you'll also enjoy her wonderful sense of humor and be amazed by her many interests and talents--from pickling to knitting, she brings her whole self to her practice."

“Alex was a joy to work with during my 3rd pregnancy. She was very knowledgeable and professional in our visits. We established a relationship with her that went beyond midwifery, having her over for dinner, and swapping recipes and ideas for healthy living. Her heart is to assist mothers in total care from pre-natal to post-natal. Her gentleness and steadiness during my labor were very reassuring to us, and I felt her spiritual support in prayer as well. I would consider even flying her out to attend my next birth!”
